Two-Week Academy | Ages 9-12

Make an App and Mod your World!

In this two-week learning experience, Students will have the opportunity to open many doors with the knowledge and know-how to use Java with Minecraft and Thunkable to develop apps, games, and drawings.

Week 1, Adventures in App Development: Students will discover how to program an app using a new platform that allows students to create apps using a block-based programming. Throughout the course, students learn how to create different types of apps, ranging from games to social media, then use those skills to build an original app!

Week 2, Adventures in Java Programming with Minecraft:Create your own Minecraft Mods using Java programming! Students will be creating and sharing custom creations using a Java coding framework designed for beginners to code allowing students to interchangeably program with a block interface, or in pure Java, so the course is fun and rewarding for all levels of experience!

Software Development and Coding Courses

Computer code runs your devices and the world. Our Programming courses prepare students with the skills they need to develop their own apps and games in languages such as C#, and Java. React Native is the most widely used framework to develop mobile applications and games for iOS, Android, and Windows Mobile. Students leave our computer programming courses with skills and knowledge that sets them on the path to a career in computer science and engineering. As a result of student’s experience with Java and React they will have the foundational building blocks of an industry professional.
