Design and Code Your Own Game

At Digital Media Academy, our goal is to empower students to become creators of digital media rather than just consumers. Everyone loves a good game and creating those games is more exciting than ever for our students.

Unity is the primary framework used to develop most of the video games people play today. Students will practice using the Unity editor to create levels and environments, program mechanics in C# and create a few guided projects. They will create their own game with assets and mechanics of their choice.

About Game Design Courses

Our Game Design courses teach students how to create their own video games. They’ll design levels, characters, and full games using tools such as the Unreal or Unity game engines. The Intro to Game Design with Unity course goes in-depth in game design fundamentals, teaching students how to design, code, and improve their 2D or 3D games. They’ll be responsible for every aspect of their game as they manage assets and take feedback based on user playtesting until they have their very own game, playable on a PC or mobile device.

The Teen Experience: Since 2002, Digital Media Academy has been encouraging and inspiring teens to become the next generation of developers, animators, filmmakers, photographers, designers, and engineers. In addition to developing teens’ interests and passions for the latest in new tech, our camps foster personal growth, confidence, and independence; preparing students for life beyond high school and college.
